Education Committee

The purpose of the Education Committee shall be to improve expertise, knowledge, and functional skills of the profession of Athletic Training. The Director of Continuing Education shall be a standing member of this committee. The Education committee shall be responsible for setting up qualifications, reviewing nominations, and voting on nominees for the following educational awards:

  • Gordon Reynolds Scholarship (High School Student)
  • Eugene Christmas Scholarship (College Student)
  • Academic Excellence

Gordon Reynolds Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each year to a high school athletic training student in honor of Mr. Gordon Reynolds, LATA Hall of Fame Member and retired athletic trainer from John Eret High School.

Eugene Christmas Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each year to a collegiate athletic training student to memorialize Mr. Eugene "Doc" Christmas, LATA Hall of Fame Member and past head athletic trainer for Northwestern Louisiana State University.
